Before my kids were born, I was a marketer. For 11 years, I wrote business-to-business copy, designed promotional materials, and coordinated direct mail marketing for a successful book publisher.
Then, knowing I wanted to stay close to home when my husband and I started a family, I started a small freelance writing business, Wolfe Writing. I wasn't in business for long before the Lord blessed us with our first child. A second baby followed two-and-a-half years later.
Although I continued to pursue freelance writing opportunities, when my kids started school I made a non-traditional career move: I started working part-time at their Christian school, assisting the kindergarten teacher. I liked being on the same schedule as my children, and I liked being in the school building: the staff was kind and encouraging, the schedule allowed me time to write, and kindergarten was just plain fun!
I'm still working at the school, but now that my kids are older and more self-sufficient, I'm focusing more on what I love: writing. I love writing about my family, my faith, and our travel adventures, but I also enjoy digging into new subjects and leaning on the skills I learned as a marketer.
Do you need someone to help you with your writing projects? I'd love to discuss them with you.
